(August 29, 1958 – June 25, 2009)

"Consciousness expresses itself through creation. This world we live in is the dance of the creator. Dancers come and go in the twinkling of an eye but the dance lives on. On many an occasion, when I am dancing, I have felt touched by something sacred. In those moments, I felt my spirit soar and become one with everything that exists. I become the stars and the moon. I become the lover and the beloved. I become the victor and the vanquished. I become the master and the slave. I become the singer and the song. I become the knower and the known. I keep on dancing and then, it is the eternal dance of creation. The creator and the creation merge into one wholeness of joy. I keep on dancing. . . until there is only. . .the dance."

Television networks across the dial united to show Michael Jackson memorial
07 July 2009
NEW YORK - Queen Latifah called Michael Jackson "the biggest star on Earth," and it was hard to argue when his memorial service united American television networks as diverse as ABC, MTV, Fox News Channel, BET and ESPN News.

They all carried at least part of the Los Angeles ceremony on Tuesday - as did a number of Canadian networks - which included a mix of music and remembrances capping an extraordinary dozen days of coverage since the pop star's death from cardiac arrest on June 25.

Millions of people watched worldwide on TV screens or on computer through websites such as TMZ and Hulu, although a backlash simmered among people who wondered whether it was too much for an entertainer.

The two-hour plus ceremony saved its emotional wallop for the end, when Jackson's 11-year-old daughter, Paris-Michael Katherine, approached the microphone with a tearful goodbye to her father as his golden casket sat in front of her.

"I just wanted to say I love him so much," she said.
